Biography

Sergio Luiz Pereira, born July 15, 1960), known professionally as Sergio Kato is a Brazilian-American actor, producer, former model, stunt, ballet dancer and martial artist. Born in Brazil, and he has held U.S. Citizenship since becoming naturalized in 1992.

In 1988, he abandoned his career as a Ballet Dancer and started to act in the film industry. 

"Early life and career"

As a boy, Sergio Kato played several Sports, heavily influenced by his Brother Mazaropi Ex-Goalkeeper. Then, Sergio engaged in the studied theater at the acting school "O Tablado", in Rio de Janeiro-Brazil. Sergio as well acted & danced for the Performing Arts School of Classical Ballet in Miami, Florida. In 1980, Brazil took dance classes with Marly Tavares, Johny Franklin and many others such as advanced classes at Steps on Broadway and take privates with one of the amazing teachers, like Berman and Leslie Browne (Of the film Turning Point). The actor first moves into a small play in Rio de Janeiro as Dancer/Actor in the Show Scala Rio in Leblon, Rio de Janeiro. During this period, Sergio did a lot of Tv commercials for products such as Pepsi-Cola, Magnum and Timex Watches, Magazine4 wheels and many others. 

 

Kato was on the TV comedy with the Brazilian Globo Television called “VIVA O GORDO” The show was successful and launched his acting career in Brazil, but then, the actor decided to go back to the United States. Acting in Hollywood, California.

Kato made notable dramatic-comedy and several live shows in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sergio Kato did get hired to be on the show "Tropical Heat" which played at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino: Called "Rio By Night", comedy (in which he played and dance a character as the “Amazon Boy”). 

 

He was inspired by actors like John Travolta and Al Pacino. In the United States, Island of Puerto Rico, the actor appeared in the comic strip at the movie “Brenda Starr” in 1989. Action/Adventure along with co-star Brook Shields, Timothy Dalton, and others. 

Sergio began a successful solo dancing and acting career while simultaneously making films (Cameo). The first two films were “ONLY THE STRONG” played the main Bodyguard of Silverio. IMDb is credited as Sergio Pereira.  

Since then, Kato has been working for many advertising campaigns, TV shows, and films. His modeling career also includes modeling for Polo Ralph Lauren, Georgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Timex. TV commercials and print works, magazines, catalogs. etc.

Kato signed a contract with the Sid Levin talent agency of California. Sergio most likely wants to show the abilities of his acting in any country he goes to. Sergio is an enthusiast for making his movies, He says he has a very healthy relationship with God, due to a Christian upbringing, and has always lived a very moral life. He is strongly opposed to the beliefs of fundamentalist Christians; "He draws attention to the Christians. He is serious about his life with Jesus Christ.”

His catchphrase is "Awww, no way Jose!!”. Most of his films have that line somewhere in the story.
